An Enrolled Agent is a federally licensed U.S. tax professional authorized to represent taxpayers before the IRS. Enrolled Agents generally earn the credential by passing the three-part Special Enrollment Examination and meeting IRS suitability requirements, or through qualifying former IRS experience.
